UMRFC Adopts a Family for the Holidays

The UMRFC recently participated in the Volunteers of America Michigan’s Family Adoption Program.

The program helps organize the giving of gifts for over 24,000 people during the holiday season. This includes more than 16,000 children. The program not only serves as a way to help families in need, but helps add perspective to many of the luxuries that the gift givers may take for granted.

This is Michigan Rugby’s third year and the 18th year for the program in our state. Juniors Mike LaCivita and Nic Bishar dropped off the gifts on Monday along with senior Mike Wilinski (not pictured). The gifts included clothes for the kids, some small household items, help with a holiday dinner, and of course a rugby ball. Special thanks to Grady Bridges and Chris Hopfner for their participation in the purchasing of the presents.

Thank you to all of the club members who have participated over the past years.

Happy holidays.
