August Player of the Month: Oliver Gregerson

Oliver Gregerson is the August Player of the Month. Olly first picked up the game this past spring, and has been a dedicated fixture of the squad ever since. His work ethic and willingness to learn are examples of how well he fits the UMRFC mold. Olly has impressed this summer with his workout numbers and will look to push for a wing spot this fall, his senior year. Gregerson is a perfect example that it’s never to late to start playing rugby at Michigan.

What have you liked about Michigan rugby the most so far?
The camaraderie with my teammates is a big thing. They are a great group of guys who I know have my back and helped me to pick up the game quickly. Oh and getting to lay people out.

What legacy do you want to leave with the UMRFC?
If I have any legacy I hope it is of hard work and giving it your all everyday to make your teammates and yourself better.

In 5 years, what do you see yourself doing?
Finishing up grad school and heading out to find a good job.

Should we know about any notable family or friends?
Not really any famous people in my family but I have some cousins who played college basketball.

What’s some embarrassing childhood memory you can tell us?
My older brother once hung me by my pants from a loft and I couldn’t get myself down.

Biggest fear?
Forgetting to upload my numbers for Stu.

Favorite food?
A nice piece of fish with taters

Any game day superstitions?
I have to have freshly washed socks or my feet don’t feel right.

Favorite superhero and why?
Definitely the Hulk because he can’t be stopped, he just gets madder and stronger and crushes anything in his way.

Best advice you’ve ever received?
“Do what you have to today, so you can do what you want to tomorrow.”

Any thing else you want us to know or you want to say?
I have had an awesome time being a part of Michigan Rugby and I can’t wait for the fall season to go to town on the other Big Ten teams.
