All three of Michigan’s 7s sides traveled down to South Bend, IN to compete in this year’s Big Ten tournament. The First Side secured fourth place and hopes to find itself a place in the upcoming Collegiate Rugby Championship.
All three Michigan 7s sides traveled to Chicago last Sunday to play in a four-team tournament just outside of the Chicago Hounds’ SeatGeek Stadium. The Wolverines delivered a strong performance against teams from Michigan State, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
Michigan’s second and third sides began their season at Mitchell Field last Saturday, playing in a developmental-side tournament featuring teams from across the state of Michigan. Despite the cold weather, the second side went 4-0 to win the Michigan Cup.
Michigan traveled back to Ann Arbor, having placed 3rd at Pitt Dome 7s. Despite missing out on hardware, Michigan put together some textbook performances. The team is optimistic heading into Big Ten play.
Michigan State dominated Michigan in the scrum last Friday, and that made the difference in the game. The Spartans won 33-17 at Jackson Field in Lansing.
At the beginning of the month, the team traveled to College Park, MD to beat the University of Maryland. After a bye last week, Michigan’s second side handily beat Bowling Green’s third side yesterday.
