After joining the team before classes began last fall, freshman Connor has leveraged his years of rugby experience to become a rising star.

Colin Sampic, a Parisian exchange student playing for Michigan for the duration of the 2022-23 school year, is our February Player of the Month. Congratulations Colin!

Justin is a junior who has played rugby since he joined the team in the fall of 2021. After a breakout 7s season and a trip to the CRC last spring, Justin has been working hard to contribute this season.

Nate Seevak came on board late in the fall season and saw his first game action in Madison, Wisconsin. His strong work ethic impresses.

Matthew Daines is our November Player of the Month. Daines burst onto the scene as a freshman in Fall 2021, and he started every game at tighthead prop this past fall.

Zana is a crossover athlete who only just started playing rugby this fall. He earned his first start at wing against Western Michigan in September, and hasn’t looked back.

West is a freshman recruited from Santa Rosa, California. He competed well in August, won the starting flanker job, and has started every game this season.

Nic Granchalek is a 6’1″, 205 lb junior who has earned a starting lock spot for the top side this fall.

Loughnane is a 5’8″, 160 lb rising sophomore who enjoyed a breakout freshman 7s season. We’re excited to see how he progresses in year two.

McNabnay is a 5’8″, 160 pound back whose rugby career is on an upward trajectory. He played meaningful minutes in the 2022 Collegiate Rugby Championship after starting the season on the second side.
