SISU™ Mouthguard October Player of the Month: Jack Stothoff

Congratulations to Jack Stothoff our October Player of the Month!

Name:  Jack Stothoff

Height: 6’3”

Weight: 235 lbs

Year: Freshman

Major: Business

Hometown: Pittstown, NJ

Why did you decide to play rugby?
Wanted to continue in competitive athletics after high school and thought that rugby would be a good transition from football and carry over much of what I enjoyed playing football. Also, have had an interest in rugby since the 2015 World Cup.

What have you liked about Michigan Rugby so far?
Have really enjoyed not only how competitive practices and games are, but how all of us continue to enjoy one another.

Describe your most memorable moment on the pitch.
Most memorable moment is either of the times that some of my fellow freshman teammates forgot to touch the ball down during in the try zone, as I find it great that we were talented enough to get there, but funny that we didn’t have enough experience to remember to touch it down. I’d rather get into the try zone and forget to touch it than not get there at all.

What’s your most favorite rugby drill in practice? Least favorite?
Favorite drill is 5-cone, least favorite is line out drills.

What other sports have you played?
Football and lacrosse.

What do you see yourself doing in five years?
Hope to be working in advertising or banking, but if not either of those, something I really end up enjoying.

What is an embarrassing childhood memory that you can share with us?
I chipped my adult front tooth in first grade when I walked into a cinderblock wall.

What is your favorite place in Ann Arbor?
Zingerman’s

What is your biggest fear?
Humidity

What is your favorite food?
Cheeseburgers

Do you have any game-day superstitions? Explain.
Don’t have any yet for rugby

Who is you favorite superhero and why?
Batman- has the coolest cars and gear.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Will have to think on this one.

Again Congratulation our October Player of the Month, Jack Stohoff!
