Fall Season Update

In June, University of Michigan President Mark Schlissel announced UM’s plan for a public health-informed fall semester. Over the past couple of months, our club has been hard at work figuring out what that will mean for Michigan Rugby. In the interest of public health, we have to change some plans.

University-wide travel suspensions due to the pandemic prevent any matches against other universities or clubs. Therefore, all ten games on our Fall 2020 schedule are cancelled.

Although this news was expected, it is still extremely disappointing. We were working our butts off all spring and summer preparing for the fall, ready to make big strides in the Big Ten. However, all is not lost. Pending clearance by the university, we’ll be on the practice field soon, training in a safe manner.

It is uncertain, but we are hopeful for a spring season. When we know, you’ll know. Either way, whenever competition does resume, you can be sure that Michigan will be ready.

Thanks for all of your support.

Are any of the rugby games going to be resheduled?
    Thank You!

  1. Hey Anthony,
It’s a pretty fluid situation right now. It doesn’t look like we’ll play any games until 2021 at the earliest. Once we’re able to play games against other schools, we’ll release a new schedule.
