Why did you decide to play rugby?
I decided to play rugby because I wanted to continue playing a contact sport and to find a group of friends. My main sport growing up was hockey, but I didn’t want to bring my large hockey bag into a dorm room so I decided that I would play a new sport in college and my parents recommended rugby. My dad actually played rugby at the University of Michigan when he went here so it seemed like the best place to start and after my first practice I was hooked.
What have you liked about Michigan Rugby so far?
By far, it has been the community. While playing rugby I have found my best friends and gotten the opportunity to meet many different U of M alumni across the country. I have really enjoyed playing rugby, but the best part has been playing alongside my friends.
Describe your most memorable moment on the field.
My favorite moment on the field was playing Michigan State in the Battle for the Mitten my sophomore year. It was a great experience to be able to play under the lights at a stadium against our rivals and I don’t think I’ve ever had an experience like that.
What’s your most favorite rugby drill in practice? Least favorite?
My favorite warmup is playing Aussie rules, and I can’t think of a least favorite drill but probably something to do with rucking.

Hockey and Soccer
What do you see yourself doing in five years?
I’m not quite sure what I want to be doing in 5 years.

What is your favorite food?
My mom’s spaghetti with basil and diced tomatoes
Do you have any game-day superstitions?
I don’t have any game-day superstitions. I just try to get a good night of sleep the day before.

Batman
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Set intentions instead of goals.
