UMRFC Round 3 Recap: Dudes Continue their Climb; Bennies and Ross tighten their Gap

This week of Intrasquads presented the most amount of challenges yet. From a one-minute free throw competition to Bronco relay races during practice, this week’s of Intrasquads were both exciting and challenging.

We started off this week with testing out our lifting maxes, with Jones and Sues to grab first and second place. Sues’ Brett Silber set a new Bench PR of 280 lbs along with a new Squat PR of 370 lbs. Cesar Orozco continues to impress with his numbers as well, setting a 355 bench PR and a 525 lb squat, and a 565 lb deadlift. Finally, Sues’ George Janke Squat and Deadlift PR, at 365 lbs for 415 lbs, respectively.

To continue this week’s challenges, Ross’ Alonzo Cortez took 1st place for Ross in the Free throw competition, with 10 free throws in under one minute. This was followed by Justin Chiang from Sues, who scored 6 free throws.

Further, in our 1v1 Harness challenge, we saw Dudes take 1st place, with Bill Young going undefeated. Sues and Jones came in for a close 2nd place tie, with players like Josh Song and George Janke.

Finally, to end this week’s Intrasquads’ challenges, Dudes came in and took 1st place once more at the Sprint and Bronco Relay challenge. In both challenges, Sues took 2nd place, and Bennies took 3rd.

As of now, Sues and Dudes take dominance, with Dudes taking a 2 point lead after this week and further their dominance. Finally, Ross and Bennies continue to fight for their 3rd place seed.
