Winter Practice Update, Part 2

After a Fall Semester with limited activity, Michigan Rugby is currently doing full-team practices with contact. As of March 17th, the University of Michigan’s EHS (Environmental Health and Safety Department) has allowed us to break 6 feet distance and graduate up to touch rugby. We may be able to go into full-on contact in the future but are still required to wear masks during practice and continue our due diligence in completing weekly COVID-19 testing.

With this exciting change, Michigan Rugby continues to stay productive through our lifting sessions, film studies, individual ball skills training while expanding our drills during practice at Mitchell Field. Although the current pandemic and stay-at-home orders have made it difficult, this recent change has allowed Michigan Rugby to further improve and prime itself for a promising season this coming Fall 2021 in the Big Ten.
