March Alumnus of the Month: Davy Hamilton

DavyRugby

This years Alumni of the Month is Davy Hamilton, Congrats Davy!

When did you play?

2007 to 2011 with a year of coaching in 2012

What position did you play?

Scrum half and flanker

What was your favorite memory as a member of the club?

Near impossible question. One memory that will stick with me for the rest of my life was the trip to Nationals in 2008. With so many great rugby teams in one place it was incredibly high-level rugby in combination of absurd off-the-field fun. I also got to meet some outstanding alumni and experience the overwhelming generosity of the Old Boys.

Did you receive any special honors as part of the club

I think I still have a hand-made trophy that Sauce gave me for something but honestly can’t remember what it was for.

What are you doing now?

I am an internal medicine resident at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Some day I will grow up to be a cardiologist or critical care doctor.

Any other interesting stories?

Too many to count. The fiftieth anniversary Old Boys, Pacific Coast Prowl, trip to the Lions game in 2007, the Feed (shout out to Tobi Eboda), and beating OSU at the Big Ten Tourney (2009?) will all stick with me. But really it was just about meeting an awesome group of guys and the shenanigans that ensued.

The trophy was probably for Heart. Or his sweet, sweet Buick. Beating OSU at Big Ten tourney was a beautiful day.
