Tour 2020: Mexico!

Michigan Rugby will spend half of its trip in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

One of Michigan Rugby’s coolest traditions is the annual spring break trip, also known as tour. In addition to the typical vacation, tour always includes some philanthropy and, of course, rugby. In previous years, the team has travelled to places such as Colombia and the United Kingdom. This year’s tour is in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

In Guadalajara, UMRFC has a XVs match scheduled against Rhinos Rugby Club. The team also plans to volunteer in nearby Chapala, visit the Guadalajara Aquarium, and check out the Tlaquepaque markets among other activities. After four days in Guadalajara, the team will travel to Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta is on the Pacific coast, so the team is sure to spend its time there on the beach. On the second last day of spring break, UMRFC will participate in a 7s tournament in Puerto Vallarta against a variety of local teams.

During the trip, various team members will write diary entries that I’ll post on a different article. Expect one diary entry for each day of the trip, starting when the team departs Ann Arbor on February 28.
