Michigan Earns 5-Seed at Collegiate Rugby Championship in New Orleans

On March 30, the Collegiate Rugby Championship (CRC) bracket was revealed. Michigan grabbed the West Region’s 5th seed and will face American International College (AIC) in the First Round. The CRC 7s national championship takes place May 28-30 in New Orleans at the Shrine on Airline Stadium.

The tournament is a 32-team knockout with consolation matches. Results throughout will determine Michigan’s next opponents, game times, and broadcast (The Rugby Network or CBS Sports Network). Find complete event info and bracket here.

Michigan is one of three Big Ten teams selected for the event, joining #1 seed Indiana and #2 seed Penn State. This is Michigan’s first appearance in the CRC since 2016. Michigan has selected its 12-player roster, and the players are staying in Ann Arbor for all of May to train. Expect us to bring you more coverage in the coming weeks.
