Congratulations to Zeb Clemente, our June Alumnus of the Month! Zeb played for U of M from 1990 until 2007, during a time when both current students and members of the Ann Arbor community played for the team. Zeb still continues to grow the sport of rugby in the state of Michigan to this day.
This is the final article sending off our seniors. Congratulations to Michigan Rugby’s class of 2021!
Truman Stovall is a 6’0” center from Dexter, MI. A graduating senior, he’s been a major contributor to Michigan Rugby both on the field and off of it as our Community Service Director for three years.
It’s time to acknowledge some of our graduating seniors. Eight of the 17 seniors are recognized below. The other half will receive recognition in an article in the coming weeks.
Congratulations to Glen Zatz for being our May Alumnus of the Month! Glen played for Michigan back in the 1970’s where he quickly learned to apply his high school pole vaulting skills on the rugby field, and became quite an elusive back. He continued playing rugby until 2019, when he was the only 64 year old on the field, and realized it was probably time to hang up his cleats.
Congratulations to our April Alumnus of the Month: Harry McGee! Harry started playing for Michigan Rugby in 1974 and continued through the 1980’s while in grad school. He was a prop for the team and after graduating ended up coaching rugby at MSU, but we won’t hold that against him…
For this week of Intrasquads, Sues takes a commanding lead for 1st place.
After a semester of socially-distanced activity, Michigan Rugby is now allowed to break 6 feet distance.
Jackson Dabagia is a 6’0” freshman from Dallas, TX. He’s a major contributor both on the field and as our VP of Sales.
